Top 10 Best Happy Hour Deals on the Las Vegas Strip

Headed to Sin City on a budget? These affordable happy hour on the Las Vegas Strip offer the most bang for your buck, not to mention prime location and plenty of upside.

The Las Vegas that most out-of-town visitors know is the one of sheer opulence, fast money, gluttonous excess, glitzy sensory overload, and high-stakes swings in fortune.  Of course, the locals and insiders are happy to indulge all those “Sin City” stereotypes, because that’s the version that many tourists pay handsomely to witness – hey, there’s no business like show business!

And Las Vegans (hilarious, but yes that’s what they’re called) play the fiddle in tune because “a fool and his money are soon parted” as the old saying goes.   Hey, there’s a reason why there’s no state income tax in Las Vegas: millions of visitors a year foot those locals’ tax bills via hotel taxes, entertainment taxes, sales taxes, and all other taxes on general debauchery (and stupidity).

1) Stage Door

Happy hour at Stage Door - Las Vegas, Nevada
  • Location: LINQ Promenade (Center Strip)
  • Happy Hour Time: Literally 24/7
  • Happy Hour Deals: $1 domestic beers, $3 shots, $5 well cocktails

If it’s all about cheap drinks for you – ambiance (or lack thereof) be damned – then there’s a clear-cut #1 happy hour to hit up while on a budget in Las Vegas. Stage Door Casino is a local classic – cheap drinks all day and night, central location, slots and video poker at the bar, a world-renowned juke box, a liquor store for to-go orders, and some of the friendliest bartenders in town… and not just behind the bar, but sitting next to you as they get ready for or unwind from their grueling work shifts on the Strip.   And of course, this “mother of all dive bars” is the home of the 24-hours-a-day $3 beer and hot dog – you remember their can’t-miss sign from every walk you’ve ever taken on the Strip, and you won’t find that deal anywhere else in Vegas. Added bonus: Stage Door was a favorite hideaway to Las Vegas celebrities back in the glory days of the 60s and 70s – Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack would relax at there after their legendary performances, and heavyweight championship boxers like Smokin’ Joe Frazier would wet their whistles there before and after fights. So you can tell Grandpa (post-COVID of course) that you drank at his favorite bar in Vegas, and paid the same prices he paid to do so.

2) 107 SkyLounge

107 SkyLounge @ The Stratosphere - Las Vegas, Nevada
  • Location: Stratosphere aka “The Strat” Hotel & Casino (North Strip)
  • Happy Hour Time: Daily from 4PM to 7PM
  • Happy Hour Deals: Half-price cocktails, wine, and beer; social plate specials (e.g. cheese plate with truffle gouda, Saint Andrè brie, manchego, spiced Marcona almonds, seasonal fruit, and local honey as well as lollipop chicken wings served with spiced sweet chili sauce)
  • View 107 SkyLounge Menu: here

You want views with your Happy Hour deal, The Strat is the place to get them. Being 107 stories above the Vegas strip in the Stratosphere Tower gives this ultra-lounge its name; while it lacks a unique moniker, 107 SkyLounge makes up for that with the most unique skyline view of the city. It’s the highest point on the north end of the Strip facing properties south, so it offers scenery only matched by the high-rise private residential towers in that area. Their drinks are incomparable as well: high-end martinis and more adventurous spirits expertly crafted from award-winning bartenders. 107 does have DJ formats and morphs into a quite lively “clubby” scene on the weekend evenings… but if a high-volume party isn’t your forte, it’s still got plenty of quieter nooks and crannies to enjoy the desert sunset and subsequent evening and ridiculous views in the company of a special date.

Built in 2016, the 20,000-seat capacity T-Mobile Arena is Sin City’s ultra-modern gathering place for large-scale concerts and sporting events (the NHL’s Golden Knights play their home games here, and it’s the arena where the UFC hosts their megafights). To complement the hundreds of entertainment dates scheduled at the arena annually – and also to draw tourists to the area on the few nights the arena is dark – the stadium grounds are bordered by The Park Vegas, an open-air cobblestone footpath lined with casual restaurants and bars that are perfect for T-Mobile pre-partying… and post-partying, since Vegas never sleeps duh. The best of the bars in the bunch is Beerhaus, an uber-fresh take on the German beer hall concept that features hundreds of craft beers on top complemented by made-to-order high-end bar grub favorites – burgers, ribs, hot dogs, brats, soft pretzels, wings, tater tots etc. – using hormone-free meat and locally sourced produce. On any sports nights at the stadium, the place is packed for happy hour more than two hours in advance and one hour after. Even if you don’t have tickets to the night’s event at T-Mobile, Beerhaus is perfect for getting together with friends, sampling new small-batch brews, and watching your team (or the team you just placed a bet on) on one of the pristine flatscreens, while taking periodic breaks to talk smack over a game of ping pong, Connect Four, or cornhole under the patio misters.

With its brightly lit neon “O” sign beckoning thirsty patrons strolling down the prime location of retail and entertainment that is the LINQ Promenade, O’Sheas Casino has a fair share of tourist traffic wandering in and out at all hours of the day but especially during happy hour. In addition to great Happy Hour specials, O’Sheas has $5 table games, an Irish cover band slapping 90s and 2000s hits, and even a leprechaun pouring shooters down visitors’ throats. But let’s be honest: people stay to take part in beer pong table after glorious beer pong table, and to take on the crowd of revelers lining up to stake claim to the “Best Ponger in (Insert Your Home State)” title and accompanying bragging. It’s a competitive but super-friendly and super inexpensive atmosphere: only $28 gets you one pitcher of beer plus server gratuity, 20 plastic cups, and 2 ping pong balls with unlimited use of beer pong tables first-come, first-serve. So get down to LINQ, get happy for their amazing happy hour, and shoot your shot champ!

But its expansive bar area at the front of the spacious venue also shines as one of the best and most underrated drink stops in Vegas. The craft beer selection showcases the best of East Coast and West Coast microbrews and rotates frequently, and perhaps even better than the beer is their bar food menu which offers high-end creative takes on the classics. Insiders tip: if you’ve got concert tickets, we highly recommend you come for Happy Hour and then stay for the concert afterward to avoid long waits in line. Except on the 1-2 times a month a major artist drops in for a more intimate show, Brooklyn Bowl is one of the more affordable ways to drink, eat, and catch live music on the Strip… and thus always draws a crowd.
