Best Dance Clubs in Cleveland – Top Nightlife Spots Downtown

Cleveland has a vibrant nightlife. In addition to numerous top-rated restaurants and bars, The Land has some outstanding clubs to dance the night away, listen to live entertainment, meet with friends, crash and burn with horrid pick up lines(for those who still engage people personally as too many of us have our heads in our cellphones) and chill after a week of working hard in the city where LeBron famously and truthfully stated “Nothing is given, everything is earned”.

There is a lot that separates a good club and a GREAT club. Good food, strong drinks, friendly staff, awesome DJ, beautiful club-goers and security. After taking my Visa and Discover cards to uncharted territory, I was able to find the best night clubs that Cleveland has to offer!

Vault

If you want an upscale experience in one of America’s most distinctive venues, Vault is the place for you. Located in an old bank vault, you will be treated to some of the most decadent cocktails and appetizers in the midwest. Their weekly programming includes bourbon tasting, executive mixers and live jazz in addition to exclusive events every month.

2017 East 9th Street Cleveland, OH 44115

Take 5 Rhythm and Jazz Tapas Lounge

Cleveland’s preeminent live jazz club offers live entertainment every week from some of America’s best entertainers and top regional and local singers and bands. One of the most exclusive venues in the State of Ohio, fans flock every weekend to see national recording artists and sample their fine cuisine, with many dishes named for jazz legends.

Velvet Dog

One of Cleveland most requested club destinations according to hundreds of Uber and Lyft drivers.

In addition to having multiple levels of clubs, rooftop patio and an impressive martini list, The Velvet Dog has fantastic weekly and monthly programming for club goers and good food.

Tomo Sushi and Hibachi Restaurant

It seems whenever a Best of Cleveland list is compiled, Tomo finds a way to be a part of the list or at least part of the conversation. In addition to having a world class menu for sushi, seafood and asian food, Tomo is one of the premier clubs in the region. With five levels of food, dancing and lounge areas, Tomo is a one stop shop for dinner and dancing.

Medusa Restaurant and Lounge

If you want to rub elbows with celebrities, pro athletes and platinum recording artists, then Medusa is where you need to be. Medusa has established themselves as the after party location for concerts, ball games and special events. The stars come to play at Medusa so do not be surprised if you see your favorite personality in the VIP, on stage or in the DJ booth.

New Orleans Mardi Gras 2018 Nightlife Party Guide

Mardi Gras 2018 invades New Orleans AKA “The Big Easy” over the next seven days, and the party doesn’t stop from now until next Wednesday.   There’s no doubt that N’awlins is more of a restaurant, dive bar, and live music venue city, with the lion’s share of the year-round party action centered around the infamous French Quarter and Bourbon Street.   And during the Mardi Gras Festival itself, daytime revelry will be spotted everywhere amidst the city streets of New Orleans: parades, colorful outfits, marching bands, dance trains, bead throwing, and public processions winding their way through the main arteries of the city from dawn ’til dusk… and then there’s little to no break before the freaks (and drunks) come out at night.

Mardi Gras in New Orleans means costumes and exposed flesh everywhere!

That being said, there are also a handful of vastly underrated nightclub options in the Crescent City – opulently decorated showrooms blasting laser-tinted smoke and pulsating music, where the world’s best hip-hop and electronic music artists stop in to perform as their national tour dates wind through the American South.  To be sure, New Orleans is and always will be an ultra-casual city – think shorts, flip-flops, and t-shirts with rude sayings on them – but sometimes you just want to dress up, be more fancy, sip adult cocktails, and bob your head to a beat… amirite or amirite?   Well, we’ve found found the best spots for you to do just that, and our app will make it easy to party hard in The Big Easy.  To celebrate our in-app launch of New Orleans, we give you our top picks for the best nightlife events for visitors and locals to celebrate Mardi Gras:

Fleur De Lit 2018 @ Republic NOLA

The Friday before Mardi Gras is considered early to party in New Orleans, as most of the locals are preparing parade floats and resting up for the days to come.  That being said, there are some events to whet the tourists’ appetites for partying on Fri-yays.    Winter Circle Productions & BASSIK Present Fleur De Lit 2018: Second Annual Mardi Gras Mayhem.  This is a two-day late-night electronic music festival at the revered New Orleans nightspot Republic, with the first night featuring San Jose, CA’s up-and-coming bass-heavy artist Getter.  Backup sounds by Klutch + Kidd Love.

Boombox Cartel @ Metropolitan

Mardi Gras may a bucket list vacation for many Americans, but for this particular 9-to-5 workday you’ll be grinding hard and sweating buckets.   Metropolitan NOLA has cobbled together a high-energy eight-hour electronic set headlined by brand-name duo Boombox Cartel.  Mexican born Producer/DJ’s Americo Garcia and Jorge Medina have quickly risen in fame among the EDM circuit and are due for a breakout 2018 in the electronic space with their unique low-end, heavy genre-blending sound. Their tracks are played all over the world by the likes of RL Grime, Diplo, Skrillex, and DJ Snake, and they have recently received shout-outs from Mad Decent, Billboard, Noisey, ThisSongIsSick, Complex, and many more. Their global tour has included sold out performances in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and Asia, including festival plays at Moonrise, Global Dance, Lollapalooza and EDC just to name a few.  Now Boombox Cartel brings the boom north of the border to the land of Southern Hospitality and one of our great nation’s best annual party atmospheres.

Bacchus Parade Afterparty w/ DJ Keith Scott @ Masquerade

The local organizations responsible for throwing the world-famous parades on each day of the Mardi Gras festival are called Krewes.  Each Mardi Gras Parade Krewe has a unique history and theme.   Some have been around for decades, while others have been in existence for just a few years.  The Krewe of Bacchus, a local group formed in 1968, holds its parade on the Sunday before Mardi Gras Day, drawing crowds of several hundred thousands every year. With more than 1,000 members and 31 animated super-floats, the Krewe of Bacchus is revered as one of the most spectacular krewes in Carnival history; their large signature floats, Rendezvous supper dance with Las Vegas-type entertainment, and national celebrity monarchs are just a few of the tradition-breaking moves that set the Krewe of Bacchus apart from he rest.  Bacchus, the Greek god of wine, has been portrayed in past Mardi Gras parades by fun-loving celebrities such as Bob Hope, William Shatner, Dick Clark, Andy Garcia, and Will Ferrell.  After their parade wraps up, the afterparty shifts over to Masquerade, the Vegas-style nightclub inside Harrah’s Casino, for a wild dance party featuring DJ Keith Scott, a mainstay on Louisiana hip-hop radio stations.

Steve Aoki & Grandtheft @ Metropolitan

The Lundi Gras celebration is a grand New Orleans tradition embedded into the fabric of both locals’ and tourists’ traditions of honoring carnival season.  Lundi Gras represents a series of events that take place the Monday before Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday. It has experienced a 20th century revival in New Orleans and is a must see daytime event for Mardi Gras revelers.  In the late afternoon, the Riverwalk Marketplace will host the annual Lundi Gras at Spanish Plaza with the arrival on the banks of the Mississippi River of Rex, King of Carnival; this free celebration includes fireworks and live musical entertainment.  As day turns into night, the Big Easy fireworks continue over at Metropolitan where Rex, King of Carnival yields his dominion to Aoki, King of Electronic Dance.   Brace yourself for a tough ticket but an epic time if you can squeeze your way in.

Time: 9:00 PM – 5:00 AM

Venue: Metropolitan (310 Andrew Higgins Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70130)

10th Annual Lundifest f/ Waka Flocka Flame @ Republic NOLA

Southern hip-hop star Waka Flocka Flame, with mega-hits like “No Hands” and “Hard In The Paint” under his belt, is sure to be one of the highest energy sets in the 10-year history of the Lundifest.  In New Orleans tradition, the night will start out with brass versions of hip-hop hits by New Orleans natives The Hot 8 Brass Band.  Come early and stay late, because Republic’s long-time resident, DJ G, will be spinning top 40s and hip-hop classics before, between, and after all the live sets.  Performances will start shortly after the parades pass downtown, so watch the Orpheus parade nearby and walk right on over for another epic Lundifest.

Time: 9:00 PM – 3:00 AM

Venue: Republic (828 S Peters St, New Orleans, LA 70130)

Mardi Gras Takeover @ Masquerade

For the past hot minute, Bernice Burgos has been making quite the name for herself.  The bartender turned “urban model” turned entrepreneur (3.7M Twitter followers!) has been turning up everywhere from your favorite artist’s music video to hip-hop morning radio stations to the gossip websites, thanks to her social media beef with Tiny Harris, wife of rapper T.I. and fellow reality TV star (4.5M Twitter followers!).  OK, OK, so reality TV may not be your cup of tea…. but rest assured, Ms. B’s presence as the marquee host for Masquerade’s Mardi Gras afterparty will explain why this venue inside Harrah’s Casino will be the “it” place of the night filled with famous/not-so-famous/wannabe-famous Instagram models, hip-hop celebrities, and known athletes such as the “Honey Badger” Tyrann Mathieu (a Lousiana State University legend) and local hero (and fantasy football god) Alvin Kamara of the NFL’s New Orleans Saints.  Pony up and bottle up… because if you can’t YOLO on Mardi Gras, you probably shouldn’t YOLO ever.

Time: 10:00 PM – 3:30 AM

Venue: Masquerade (8 Canal St, New Orleans, LA 70130)

More events and more venues for Mardi Gras 2018 in New Orleans can be found on the Discotech app.  Have a crazy but safe weekend, make sure to where lots of purple, green, & gold, always use the buddy system around town, and make sure to stock up on those beads!

Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018 Party Guide

The annual International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) – with over 180,000 registered participants – descends upon Sin City this coming week.  If you’re joining us from out of town and are attending the conference, then you are in store for hellacious crowds, physically demanding marathon race-walks, and long days stacked back-to-back with vendor/partner meetings, sales pitches, and product demos.  But hey, don’t let this Vegas trip on the company dime go to waste.  You know what they say:  Work Hard, Play Harder.  And you can always catch up on sleep on the long plane ride home… or when you’re dead.

Here’s a recap of the best parties around town after the sun goes down during CES 2018 Week:

Monday, January 8th, 2018

French Montana @ Marquee Nightclub

French is ready to go “All The Way Up” for CES – are you?

CES doesn’t officially kick off until Tuesday morning, but the majority of convention attendees will fly into town on Monday morning, set up their booths at the Las Vegas Convention Center all afternoon, and be chomping at the bit to get the party started in Sin City as the sun goes down.  There are a few Monday night events and mixers around town, including the free Startup Night Downtown Vegas, where visitors can get a sneak peek at 15 of the hottest local startups from nearby Eureka Park. NASA, Lighter Capital, Scout Ventures, and other industry leaders will help select two winners who will go on to compete in the 2018 Startup of the Year competition.  Welcome mixers end around 9pm, and the hottest afterparty will be at Marquee Industry Mondays, where Grammy-nominated Moroccan-American hip-hop star French Montana will take CES revelers “All The Way Up” into the wee hours of the morning.  Pro tip 1: Sign up for the *FREE guest list* using the Discotech app.  Pro tip 2:  MAKE SURE YOU WAKE UP.  Set your hotel room alarm clock BEFORE you head out onto the Strip… or tell a co-worker to send you a wakeup call so you can get to the Convention Center or where you need to be on time.  Or else your employability will be going all the way down.

Time: 10:00 PM – 5:00 AM

Venue: Marquee @ Cosmopolitan (3708 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109)

Tuesday, January 9th, 2018

Chainsmokers @ XS

Don’t ask them to play that Blink 182 song that you beat to death in Tucson, OK?

Is there any doubt that 2017 was the year of The Chainsmokers?   A slew of Song of The Decade candidates, a global world tour that can only be described as EPIC, and of course the residencies at two of the hottest nightclubs in Vegas.  This past year the duo put on numerous supercharged performances to packed houses at XS Nightclub and Encore Beach Club at the Wynn — and on the heels of the Grammy-winning pop duo’s incredible inaugural year as Steve’s nightlife residents, The Chainsmokers will headline Sin City’s biggest convention week behind the decks at XS Nightclub.  Tickets will start at $50 for men and $35 for ladies, giving access to both indoor and outdoor sections of the mega-club (stage access is not included unless you have a table). Tables range from a $2K minimum spend on the outdoor patio to a $15K minimum spend for VIP stage tables, with tax/gratuity/venue fees totaling about 35% on top of your group’s final spend amount.

Time: 10:30 PM – 4:00 AM

Venue: XS @ The Encore (3131 Las Vegas Blvd S, Las Vegas, NV 89109)

Steve Aoki @ Omnia

Cake, cake, cake, cake, cake, cake, cake….

A 2017 Hakkasan Group resident and the selected headliner for their 2018 Consumer Electronics Show festivities at their flagship venue, Steve Aoki is known for the enthralling electronic sounds and hard-hitting beats of his highly energetic shows.  The DJ, producer, and California native began his musical career in 1996 as founder of Dim Mak Records; since then his label has released over 250 music records for other notable electro house artists such as Datsik, Infected Mushroom, Dada Life, Zeds Dead, Aoki’s own collaboration with Tiësto, MSTRKRFT, The Bloody Beetroots, Felix Cartal and Mustard Pimp, Bloc Party, Battles, The Kills, The Gossip, Klaxons, Scanners, Whitey, and Mystery Jets just to name a few.   A surefire fan favorite for his captivating stage presence and zany antics – his signature move is throwing cakes into the crowd – Aoki enthralls dance floors and concert halls around the globe with his remixes and collaborations with some of the best-known DJs and recording artists of our time, including Celine Dion.  This is the official opening party for CES, and all CES attendees will enjoy an open bar from 10-11 PM and complimentary entry with their CES badge or event pass. Will Aoki invite any CES visitors to join him on stage at Omnia to do his world-famous “Aoki Jump” for the 2018 jump-off?  Get your tickets and make plans now, because it could be you…

Time: 10:30 PM – 4:00 AM

Venue: OMNIA @ Caesar’s Palace  (3570 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109)

Wednesday, January 10th, 2018

Marshmello @ Intrigue

That one time you took off the VR headset and the person in front of you STILL looked like THIS.

Midway through CES week, your brain will probably be fried by all the relentless techie small talk, Virtual Reality headsets, driverless car rides, and awkward social interactions with the hordes of nerds and hipsters.   Wouldn’t it be fund to recharge by spending part of your CES rollicking and laughing the night away with one of EDM’s most talented artists and one of its funniest, quirkiest personalities?  After your CES company dinner, leave the graybeards of upper management at the slot machines, because this show will be for the twentysomething kids (and Janice in Accounting, because she’s cool AF).  A picture is worth a thousand words, and a Youtube clip is worth a million.   Enough said.

Time: 10:30 PM – 4:00 AM

Venue: Intrigue @ The Wynn (3131 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV  89109)

Rick Ross @ Light

The boss that you wish you had at work.

Not only is CES one of the most exciting weeks for technology, it’s also an exciting week for music, as prime music artists flock to Vegas to entertain the masses that the convention brings in to town.  Mandalay Bay at the far south end of The Strip – one of the furthest hotels away from the Las Vegas Convention Center – is getting in on the action too.  But after a long couple of days covering over 1,900 square feet of exhibitions, you’ll definitely need to unwind and may not be up for the hike (or monorail ride).  The choice is yours: you can head back to your room, crawl into bed, put on the noise-canceling headphones, and lose yourself in some gangster rap… or you can dump all your pamphlets, shower up, get suited and booted, and find your second wind with Grammy-winning rapper Rick Ross and the gorgeous crowd he always draws.  We strongly suggest Option #2 – because nothing gets your mind off your mean boss like your dream boss AKA “The Boss” AKA Ricky Rozay.

Time: 10:30 PM – 5:00AM

Venue: Light @ Mandalay Bay (3950 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89119)

Thursday, January 11th, 2018

Tiesto @ Hakkasan

New Year’s resolution for this guy: More Vegas.

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. It looks like globe-trotting DJ and producer Tiësto will be staying as well, with the extension of his multi-year residency, which will go through 2020. The news was revealed last month in a press statement made by Hakkasan Group, which operates Hakkasan Nightclub, Wet Republic and several other clubs for both day and nightlife.  “It is an honor to return to Hakkasan Group and to continue my residencies at Hakkasan Nightclub and Wet Republic,” says Tiësto. “Vegas has come to feel like home, and through my residency with Hakkasan Group, I feel proud of the space we’ve created here for dance music. I look forward to many more opportunities to be inspired by this incredible city in venues that are consistently full of energy.”  Tiësto’s first performance of 2018 comes during CES; the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino will also be converting its main lobby to host meet-and-greets and more. Tickets to both events can be purchased here.

Time: 10:30 PM – 5:00 AM

Venue: Hakkasan @ MGM Grand (3799 S Las Vegas Blvd S ,Las Vegas, NV 89109)

DJ Mustard @ Tao

One beat please. Bacon-wrapped, hold the ketchup, hold the relish.

We assume most of you – yes, even you CES nerds – are at least peripherally familiar with DJ Mustard at this point.  Even if you aren’t, you’ve definitely heard a beat he’s created on your local radio station within the past five years, and you couldn’t get away from DJ Mustard in 2017: he burned up the airwaves month after month collaborating with some of hip-hop’s biggest names.  The Pushaz Ink affiliate has pioneered what he describes as “ratchet music”, and is a close friend of fellow California artist YG, also serving as his official tour DJ. Throughout his young career, the L.A. native has already collaborated with the likes of Young Jeezy, Tyga, 2 Chainz, TeeFlii, Nipsey Hussle, Ty Dolla $ign and many more.   Let’s face it: YG’s “My N*gga”, 2 Chainz’ “I’m Different” and Tyga’s “Rack City” are all DJ Mustard tracks that you – and every techie in your IT department and coding development team – had in your Spotify playlist and secretly know all the words to.  Now is your chance to sing along in person with zero shame and zero f*cks given, as Mustard returns to the site of his 2017 Vegas residency for a special CES performance featuring surprise guests and all his hits.  Main room tables start at $1,000 minimum spend; if you have control of the company AMEX card, those dance floor tables go for $4,000 and can be expensed to “team-building exercises” that are way more fun than trapezes or yoga retreats.

Time: 10:00 PM – 4:00 AM

Venue: Tao @ The Venetian (3355 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109)

Friday, January 12th, 2018

DJ Esco @ Drai’s Nightclub

If you made it this far into CES week… then you’re from here.

Electronic dance music reigned supreme in Vegas throughout 2017, consistently commanding the highest-price tickets and tables in nightclubs around town.  That being said, there’s no doubt that hip-hop is enjoying a resurgence at the moment, and Drai’s Las Vegas has been a big reason behind that comeback.  This past year saw Drai’s surge to the top of the Vegas hip-hop nightlife ecosystem by committing to booking top-tier talent – Future, Migos, G-Eazy, Lil’ Wayne, to name a few – which in turn made Drai’s a coveted brand and destination not only for hip-hop royalty but for professional athletes and all of black Hollywood.  Yeah, yeah, yeah – we know that the Official CES Closing Party is just down the road at the Venetian.  But half of your compadres will already have skipped town, and the eggheads who worked too hard all convention week will be trying too hard to have fun there.  So trust us when we say the better party atmosphere will be elsewhere on the strip.  The coolest Vegas stories come from partying with the cool kids AKA us Vegas locals, and there will be plenty of them at the legendary Drai’s on Friday night bumping to DJ Esco and taking their city back from the hordes of CES tourists, prior to ending the night / starting the morning next door at the infamous Drai’s After Hours.

Time: 10:00 PM – 4:00AM (Drai’s After Hours goes from 2:00am to noon)

Venue: Drai’s Nightclub @ The Cromwell (3595 Las Vegas Blvd S, Las Vegas, NV 89109)

More events and more venues for CES 2018 in Las Vegas can be found on the Discotech app.  Safe travels to and from Sin City, enjoy the convention, and look for Discotech back in your own town!  (We’re in 25 North American cities and counting…)

Diplo Basel Edition @ LIV

Diplo Basel Edition @ LIV

On Monday evening this week, Diplo, the musician and producer, stood on the back terrace overlooking Biscayne Bay with Jeremy Scott, the noted fashion designer. Long candlelit white tables had been set for dinner. “I just bought a bunch of land in Jamaica, and I’m going to turn it into a creative commune,” he said.  Diplo hit the art fair early Tuesday morning to browse pieces for his estate, despite a 2 a.m. D.J. gig in a parking lot in downtown Miami with his pal Virgil Abloh, the designer of the fashion brand Off-White.  On Thursday night, the 2017 Wynn Las Vegas resident DJ headlines South Beach’s most well-known and longest-running upscale nightclub, which figures to be one the hardest-to-score nightlife tickets of the entire Art Basel weekend.  All in a week’s work for one of electronic dance music’s brightest stars.

Desert Hearts Art Basel Edition @ Trade Miami

Desert Hearts Art Basel Edition @ Trade

Contemporary art trends may go out of style quickly, but House, Techno, & Love most certainly do not. The Desert Hearts City Hearts Tour has timed its Miami tour stop with Art Basel weekend, and their event at no-frills locals’ favorite Trade – co-hosted by locals’ favorite promoters Link Miami Rebels – will serve as a showcase for their newer music coming out on Desert Hearts Records in 2018. With momentum still riding from their summer Desert Hearts Festival and November City Hearts Festival in Los Angeles, this crew is pouring everything into their record label to take their love vibe to the far reaches of the world. Their launch into the far reaches of the galaxy begins Friday in Miami, and where better to make some memorable magic than in Magic City itself?

Time: 11:00 PM – 4:00AM

Venue: Trade Miami (1439 Washington Ave, Miami, FL 33139)

Zedd Basel Edition @ Story

Zedd @ Story

Zedd, the DJ/producer who landed on this month’s December 2017 cover of Forbes Magazine, has a backstory that many contemporary art fans and Art Basel attendees can appreciate.   To distinguish himself from competing DJs with similar sounds, he created a graphics-heavy live show that feels like watching a video game projected onto a movie screen, with a custom visual for each song.   A cable runs from his computer to the front of the house, where a team of technicians makes sure everything synchs up, including the program’s lasers and pyrotechnics.  Early on he became known as the anti-DJ of the DJ universe, which ironically (hey, artists love that irony!) led him to surging popularity, longstanding Vegas residencies, mainstream radio success, and collaborations with megastars such as Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, and Alessia Cara.

Time: 11:00 PM – 4:00 AM

Venue: Story (136 Collins Ave, Miami, FL 33139)

Art Basel Showcase @ Do Not Sit on the Furniture

The Playroom crew from NYC descends upon Miami to host a special Art Basel event featuring Behrouz and friends.  Playroom serves as a liaison between many artists & DJs, club/ venue owners, event and festival producers, and a niche crowd of sophisticated house and tech house music enthusiasts.  Its focus is on cutting edge music, the quality people that comprise the magnetic community associated with it, and the positive vibe that it creates.  Behrouz’s Art Basel sets have become legendary over the years, and this industry insiders’ party is sure to be a fabulous networking event as well as a colorful foray into the emotional and artistic journey of electronic sound.

Time: 10:00 PM – 5:00 AM

Venue: Do Not Sit On The Furniture (423 16th Street, Miami, FL 33139)

H.Wood Group Pop-Up f/ 50-Cent @ Ora

50 Cent @ Ora

Famed Los Angeles promotions team H.Wood Group puts together a “modest” Art Basel pop-up event featuring a not-so-modest headlining act: super-duper-megastar 50 Cent.  “Fitty” will be supported on the turntables by DJ Fred Matters from the H.Wood team’s Hollywood karaoke hotspot Blind Dragon.   Probably not on the guest list for tonight’s festivities: Wendy Williams.

Time: 11:00 PM – 5:00 AM

Venue: Ora (2000 Collins Av, Miami, FL 33139)

Sunday, December 10th, 2017

Corona Electric Beach f/ Duke Dumont @ Hyde Beach

Duke Dumont @ Hyde Beach

Corona Electric Beach is a popular traveling “fun in the sun” experience featuring world-renowned DJs, and for Art Basel weekend on South Beach it will feature electronic artist Duke Dumont, who has played one of the most pivotal roles in making UK deep house the thundering global juggernaut it is today.  The British superstar will not be the only draw for SLS Hotel’s famous Sunday party, as Bisco Smith will be hosting and presenting a unique live art installation.  Bisco is a contemporary visual artist from Queens, New York with roots in music, graffiti, and street art.   Bisco works in a variety of formats, including canvas and large outdoor murals, and is known for his “visual freestyle”—characterized as a blend of graffiti deconstruction, gestural abstraction, and lyric-based stylewriting. Made predominantly with a black and white color palette, his art visually captures the rhythms of music and the energy of the moment through its spontaneous marks and abstracted text.

Time: 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Venue: Hyde Beach @ The SLS Hotel (1701 Collins Ave, Miami, FL 33139)

Markus Schulz @ Heart

Markus Schulz @ Heart

Art Basel weekend closes out with a global trance music legend putting on a thunderous spectacle in his own hometown.   Miami Heat superfan Markus Schulz – known for his marathon 10-12 hour DJ sets – waves goodbye to the visiting artists and creatives and hands the city back to the home team with a pulsating DJ set that surely will not end until after the sun comes up.  In true Basel fashion, expect to see an artist tinkering with works in progress while still producing high-level performance pieces, as Mr. Schulz gets some warm-up reps in advance of his forthcoming New Year’s Eve open-to-close extravaganza at the renowned Avalon nightclub in Los Angeles.

Time: 11:00 PM – ???

Venue: Heart (50 NE 11th St, Miami, FL 33132)
