Your VIP Guide to EDC Las Vegas 2018

The Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) energizes the Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend with a grand explosion of thumping beats, glowing colors, good vibes and eclectic fashion choices.

In an effort to avoid the extreme summer heat of Vegas, this year’s festival is a few weeks earlier than in the past. That doesn’t mean there won’t still be plenty of heat in nightclubs all over the city and on the festival grounds May 18-20. There will also be crowds (lots of them) and traffic (lots of it).

If you love electronic music, but dread the idea of getting to EDC, gathering in congested groups or going into porta potties, there are some ways to turn your EDC experience from hot and sticky to haute and swanky.

Flying cars and personal jetpacks have yet to hit the Vegas transportation market, but you can still arrive at EDC via the Las Vegas sky.

Your 15-minute luxury helicopter ride takes off from Maverick Helicopters‘ runway on the Las Vegas Strip and whisks you to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in style, offering breathtaking views of the city from start to finish. Be sure to wave at all the drivers headed to EDC in the traffic on the freeways below. Maybe you can save them a spot near the stage for Afrojack.

Round-trip rides for groups of up to seven people cost $5,500 (plus fees and taxes). Single seats for round-trip passage are $850 (plus fees and taxes).

VIP tickets to EDC are $699 for three days, but it’s an investment with many payoffs, including: raised viewing decks; Dedicated dance areas; lounge space with dance space, food, games, and more; an EDC VIP info booth; VIP Ferris wheel and dedicated VIP fast-pass lanes for various carnival rides located in the general admission area.

VIP festivalgoers also enjoy a body paint and beauty bar, oxygen bar, Kandi bracelet making station, VIP ball pit, cell phone charging stations, dedicated gourmet food trucks, a complimentary breakfast and air-conditioned bathrooms.

For those who long to be treated like a king or queen among mere festivalgoers and VIPs, we suggest booking a table at the Marquee SkyDeck. Expanded this year to nearly double its size, it boasts amazing views of the kineticFIELD, sparkly bottle service presentations, and access to every VIP area in the festival.

Sponsored by TAO Group, your SkyDeck experience begins upon your arrival at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway with a dedicated check-in tent for quick entry to the festival. You’ll then be transported to your SkyDeck table via a private golf cart, where you’ll indulge in top-of-the-line champagne, tequila and vodka brands as well as electrifying bottle presentations with sparklers.

Oh, and have we mentioned the private air-conditioned restrooms?

Additional bottle service packages with easy check-in, access to VIP areas and private restrooms are also available on premier viewing decks at neonGARDEN, circuitGROUNDS and quantumVALLEY.

Book table service at EDC or other clubs in Las Vegas on the Discotech App. You can also sup for free guestlists during EDC week and buy tickets!

EDC 2018 Announcements and Changes

Already missing the adrenaline rush under the electric sky? Well, you’ll still have to wait a bit for the next EDC but it will be one month shorter than usual. Headlining a number of changes for the acclaimed best EDM music festival in the world, the event dates will be pushed a month earlier to May 18-20, 2017. While this may mean bad news for high school and college students who will be having their finals, it is music to the ears of other ravers. An earlier date allows for a more forgiving climate in the hot deserts of sin city. On top of that, the opening ceremony will be extended by one hour each day, meaning more time getting turnt and vibe out before the main events.

An recently constructed additional lane in the immediate area of the Speedway will alleviate traffic in and out of the area. If that is still not good enough for you, EDC 2018 will actually allow camping and RVs to stay overnight on site!

Tents available for rent:

  • Air-conditioned GA tents decked out with dust-control canvas walls, comfortable artificial grass, and electrical outlets for up to six attendees
  • Air-conditioned Premier tent complete with dust-control canvas walls, comfortable artificial grass, twin or queen-sized beds, linens, pillows, towels, tables, chairs, and lights for up to two or four attendees

For RVs, you can either drive your own to the site or rent one fully equipped with linens and pillows, courtesy of Insomniac.

EDC prices may be going up every year but hey, it’s one of those magical things in life that you really shouldn’t miss. Tickets for EDC Las Vegas 2018 go on sale Thursday, September. 28 at 12 p.m. PT at electricdaisycarnival.com.

For now, you can watch this trailer by Insomniac to get a glimpse of what to expect.
