Electric Room
The Electric Room is hidden on the lower level of Dream Downtown. The private room holds roughly 100 people and features a complete bar servicing high-end drinks and custom cocktails. The room has a separate cool feel with sofas featuring the Union Jack Flag.
Specialty back-painted antique mirrors by artist Chris Stain decorate the banquette wall, as well as artwork by Sante D’Orazio and Marilyn Minter. Bottle service is availible for booking, as are ticketing and Guest List options, all availible here, through Discotech.
Tao Downtown
Nestled away within the beauty of Tao Downtown’s restaurant is a secret treasure, the “in the know” oasis called Tao Downtown Nightclub. Separate from the restaurant, the 2500 sq foot drinks-only lounge has kept a low-key profile attracting VIPS and celebrities for late night/wee-hour cocktails, music and dancing.
A lot of people aren’t even aware that there’s a nightclub below, as it is tucked away in the corner of the huge Tao complex, away from the dining area. The club is placed one stair down and where it is so intimate and dark, it feels like a speak-easy. Tao Downtown Nightclub is one of the Meatpacking hotspots these days for those in the know, and it can be challenging to get in on weekends. Click here to see Upcoming Events or sign up for Guest List at Tao Downtown or book bottle service, as it is important to note that dining at the restaurant does not guarantee entry into the club.
The Tippler
The Tippler is a classic New York cocktail destination snuggled in the cellar space beneath the Chelsea Market. The light of the “OPEN” marquee at 425 W 15th Street guides the way underground to a bar immersed in NYC history.

Hudson Bar and Books
Hudson Bar and Books is found in one of New York City´s most popular neighborhoods, the West Village. Encircled by landmarked townhouses, brownstones, and cobblestone streets, Hudson Bar and Books gives a refreshing option to the now trendy meat packing district.
Hudson Bar and Books was also the original high-end hotel style bar accessible to both local residents and destination visitors, inviting and welcoming all. The decor is very traditionaly styled with a taste of continental.
Brass Monkey
Opened in 2004, Brass Monkey is a relaxed, cool neighborhood bar with a classic American menu served for lunch, dinner and brunch (on weekends). They have a huge draft and bottle beer selection, a wide assortment of spirits and house cocktails as well as a lively wine list. Clubbyhole always been known to be an easy-going, friendly crowd with great bartenders that know your name, know your drink and always have a smile.
Many have said its the only bar in New York where gay men and women feel equally comfortable and welcome. What’s amazing is that this bar is not concerned with being an exclusively gay or lesbian bar. People who aren’t into labels or people who identify as LGBT will feel comfortable as well. Also it’s full of cute men and women.
STK Downtown

Troy Liquor
Come take a walk on the wild side – girls, keep your Louis bags at home – and head into Troy Liquor Bar, a mixture of art, music and fashion. Troy Liquor Bar aims to throw it back to a simpler time, when there were hippies about and not hipsters; when the Meatpacking District was a full meat market instead of crazy champagne brunches; when it was about spending time with your friends rather than posting that perfect picture.
DJs will perform to crowds while party-goers enjoy old school cocktails and the slick interior, featuring bright colored graffiti art by Col Wallnuts. Hangout with friends in one of the 5 cozy nooks, shoot a game of pool or play a round of foosball.
1Oak
Welcome to 1Oak. After moving passed a coat-check anteroom, patrons find themselves in an open room with a roof of raw oak slats and a zigzagging black-and-white floor. The room is split by a center bar serving out $20 mixed drinks, and, in one corner, a VIP-type area with a roaring fireplace and giant artwork by Roy Nachum.
Past that area is an outdoor smoking lounge somewhat enclosed by mirrored walls. In the front of the room, you see a D.J. stage outfitted with what looks and feels like a very expensive sound system and in the back, risers for those content sitting without silver Dom Pérignon buckets in front of them. If you’d like to sit with Dom Pérignon buckets in front of you, Discotech allows you to book bottler service here. Click Upcoming Events at 1Oak to see who’s performing this weekend!

NYC. The glorious skyscrapped inhabited metropolis known for its giant buildings, 4am closing times, and excellent pizza. Today’s post focuses on those lovely places with 4am closing times that tend to play Hip Hop more then the other genre of music. So with that being said, let’s get to it!

The LAVO
Inspired by the original LAVO in Las Vegas, LAVO New York Nightclub brings a downtown atmosphere with an uptown awareness. Located in midtown, the state-of-the-art venue is a nightlife hot spot brought to you by the creators of the world-famous TAO Asian Bistro in NYC, TAO Las Vegas, TAO Beach and Marquee Dayclub & Nightclub in Las Vegas. The club comes equipped with bottle service as well as top DJs spinning your favorite tracks all night long.
Designed with a multi-layer approach, the venue is ideal for both after dinner entertaining and late night debauchery. Two full-service bars and decadent banquette seating complete this space. Still interested? Cick upcoming events at LAVO NY to see who’s performing!
PH-D
Fo those who have spent years absorbing life lessons from “Entourage,” PH-D is Xanadu: a glittering room full of celebrities, beautiful women and cresting credit-card bills. The nightclub, which opened in June on the roof of the Dream Downtown hotel, is the latest from the impresarios behind Marquee, Tao and other successful playgrounds for the well heeled.
The crowd is a testament to the timeless compatibility of wealth and attractiveness. PH-D is filled of men in business-casual attire and women who rarely spend weekdays in an office. Like tipsy flamingos, models weave around the room and dance on couches. At a recent one of the popular Tuesday night parties, a few craned over Wilmer Valderrama, an actor from “That ’70s Show,” who shared bottles of vodka with fellow patrons and rapped along with Jay-Z records. Later that week, Edward Norton and Woody Harrelson stopped in, perhaps reminiscing about “The People vs. Larry Flynt.”
Getting inside PH-D is no easy feat. With a max capacity of 400, table reservations are your best bet. Everyone else is left to the mercy of the doorman after 9:30 p.m. The emphasis is on table service, but more-frugal customers can lurk at the bar. Thriftiness is relative as specialty cocktails are priced $18, and with tax and tip automatically added to the bill, a Jameson on the rocks quickly surpasses $21. Click upcoming events at PH-D to see what’s happening at this venue this weekend!
1OAK
After passing through an anteroom, 1Oak patrons find themselves in an expansive room with a ceiling of raw oak slats and a zigzagging black-and-white floor that sets an El Morocco tone. The room is divided by a central black lacquered bar doling out $20 mixed drinks, surrounded by a VIP-type area with VIP tables, a roaring fireplace and giant artwork by Roy Nachum of a nude flanked by buffalo.
Beyond that area is an outdoor smoking lounge partially enclosed by mirrored walls. Ostrich-leather banquettes line underlit brick walls covered by metallic gold curtains, offsetting a bizarre centerpiece—another large artwork of a young blindfolded boy with two horses. In the front of the room there is a DJ podium outfitted with what looks and sounds like a very pricey sound system and in the back, risers for those happy to sit without silver Dom Pérignon buckets in front of them. Click upcoming events at 1Oak to see who’s performing!
Tao NY
Tucked away within the grandeur of Tao Downtown’s restaurant is a hidden gem, what many refer to as the “in the know” oasis called Tao Downtown Nightclub. Separate from the restaurant, the 2500 sq foot drinks-only lounge has kept a low-key profile attracting VIPs and celebrities for late night/wee-hour cocktails, music and dancing.
Many people don’t even know a nightclub exists, as it is tucked away in the corner of the huge Tao complex, away from the dining area. The club is found one stair down and it’s so intimate and dark, it almost feels like a speak-easy. Tao Downtown Nightclub is one of the Meatpacking hotspots these days for those in the know, and it can be tricky to get in on weekends. It is important to note that dining at the restaurant does not guarantee entry into the club. Reserve your table here or click upcoming events at Tao Downtown to sign up for Guest List and catch your favorite DJ!
Marquee NY
In January 2013, Marquee New York, the legendary Chelsea nightclub that defined New York nightlife, reopened as an internationally acclaimed music destination, attracting the most in-demand DJs and live acts. Marquee has evolved into a pimped out warehouse with 28 ft. ceilings, industrial design accents, and new features including chandeliers constructed from functioning microphones, a top-tier Funktion-One Soundsystem, a custom-built DJ booth, and floor-to-ceiling LED walls. Looking to reserve a table? Click here for table options and reservations at Marquee NY.
By hosting a diverse array of world-class artists, the mega-club is seen as a trendsetter that fuses strongly impassioned and knowledgeable music fans with VIPs in a remarkable environment. Previously opening its doors to underground luminaries such as Dubfire and Nic Fanciulli, and the leading-edge Progressive House and Trance maestros like David Guetta, Tiesto, and Gareth Emery, it will only continue to feature a refined balance of the most premier acts. Marquee New York is truly a revolutionary establishment that is certainly in a vanguard of it’s own. Click upcoming event at Marquee NY so not to miss your favorite DJ!
Webster Hall
Those who know Webster Hall solely as the roomy host to ascendant indie-acts and faded legends alike will be surprised to hear that the faux-marbled space doubles as a real-life night club featuring cover-charged theme parties and big-name DJ sets. The four-story, 40,000 square foot space includes a main stage is lined with balcony space on either end, as well as a few amenities and extras which include an underground coat check, a large back-area bar, the 600-capacity Marlin Room, and the Studio at Webster Hall, a smaller venue-within-a-venue with an intimate atmosphere.
Attendees are usually too entranced by the spinning stage lights and gothic chandeliers to notice the multi-culti hieroglyphic hode-podge lining the venue’s wall; the upstairs unisex bathroom – complete with checkered, hop-style design and blackboard walls and chalk sticks on string to encourage scrawled musings from stall occupants – is harder to ignore. Most importantly, the house sound system’s crisp low end refuses to be ignored, probably thanks to a recent $1 million upgrade. Click upcoming events at Webster Hall to see who’s performing!

Output, a beacon for house and techno that helped turn a once sleepy stretch of Williamsburg, Brooklyn into an international nightlife destination, will close at the end of the year, the club’s owners announced today.
“A confluence of factors contributed to the club’s misfortune,” founders Nicolas Matar, Bo Pittman, and Shawn Schwartz announced on Facebook, without going into specifics. “Rapidly shifting social trends, unfavorable market conditions and weakening financial outlooks coincided with the simultaneous emergence of multiple existential challenges unique to the club’s circumstances.”
While acknowledging that the closing, which will occur after one last New Year’s Eve party, “may seem shocking to many,” the owners said they’ve “seen the writing on the wall for some time,” and rejected the option of “taking great risks on uncertain outcomes just to keep the club open in some diminished capacity.”
When the club opened in 2013, it flew in the face of snobby lounges that focused on bottle service, and harkened back to the big-box clubbing days of Limelight and the Palladium, complete with a tooth-rattling Funktion-One sound system. As New York put itin its Best of New York issue that year, “The point here is to dance, not just see and be seen.” Later, Grub Street declared it the absolute best club in New York.
Even as fancy hotels and their rooftop bars sprouted up around it, Output continued to draw an array of local legends like Danny Tenaglia (spinning Dec. 25) and Francois K (Dec. 26) as well as international stars like John Digweed, who will close out the venue on New Year’s Eve. In the summer, its rooftop bar drew lines down the block.
Output’s single-story building at 74 Wythe Avenue sold for $7.4 millionin 2014. At the time, the building’s seller said the club would “continue normal operations as per a long-term lease that is in place.”

Pacha NYC may soon be reborn in the form of a spanking new 36,000 square foot club Mekka! Well, maybe.
Club Mekka is the second proposed club as of this year planned to take over the legendary Hell’s Kitchen space where for 10 strong years Pacha NYC stood. In January 2016, after a decade of lineups that regularly sported some of the largest names in the world of dance music, Pacha NYC called it a day and closed it’s doors.
Earlier this year, the building that once housed one of New York’s most happening and most buzzing clubs at 618 W 46th, was proposed to be taken over by Club FREQ, a nightclub proposed by Space Ibiza’s co-owner Antonio Piacquadio. When this proposal fell through, another not so appealing one popped up about turning the space into an art gallery that hosted occasional acoustic events.
Let’s fast forward to as of a week ago, after all the plans for the space that fell through earlier in the year, nightlife entrepreneur Glenn Raymond has now proposed a 36,000 sq ft dance music ‘mecca’, in the form of club Mekka that combines plans from both failed proposals!
Speaking about the project, Raymond said: “My experience is as a fan of the music first and foremost… I have DJ’d and thrown parties… I guess you can say Mekka is owned by a fan who wants the fans to have fun.”
On Saturday nights the space would serve as a nightclub, but on other days it would serve as an art gallery and venue for acoustic performances and also play home to a ‘museum of nightlife’ and ‘dance music hall of fame.’
While they are proposing for the space to open in 2018, it is worth noting that at this point, still no permit has been issued and nor have any floor plans been submitted, but that said, the goal is for the club to open in 2018 with bookings geared being towards underground music.
Will Club Mekka, the five story club, geared towards sounds of the underground actually be a reality for New Yorkers in the coming year? Well, we will just have to wait and see how this plan pans out!

NYC‘s historic nightlife scene may be hardly recognizable in a matter of years. Following a long list of closures of New York nightclubs, including Pacha NYC and Webster Hall, historic nightclub Cielo is reportedly shutting its doors at the end of the year.
In a post to his Facebook page, DJ Dove A.K.A. Capote Barbarito alleged that the club will permanently close its doors at the end of December to make way for real estate developments. “Great memories there whether it was hanging out dancing or playing some of my best sets DJing,” he wrote. “Cielo you’ll always have a special place in my heart thank you [sic].”
Cielo opened its doors to the public in 2003. The concept for the nightclub was hatched by Nicolas Matar, a DJ who got the idea for the club from playing Pacha Ibiza’s El Cielo, also called The Funky Room. Over the past 15 years his iconic club billed a talent pool diverse enough to include David Guetta, Luciano and Sven Väth.
Thanks for the memories.

Amidst a busy schedule, within a frenetic workday, under the blinking eyes of a sleepless city, the elite, the few, like Alice, whose curiosity for adventure leads them down the rabbit hole, will venture to New York City’s Meatpacking District on October 6, 2018 for the opening of the exclusive Red Rabbit Club.
The 4500 square foot luxury NY nightlife venue will, ironically, fill the space once reserved for the Gilded Lily. But Red Rabbit Club will have no need to adorn itself unnecessarily. Hampton’s entrepreneur, Richie Hosein is launching the club that he hopes will, according to him, “elevate the standards for excellence for nightlife and create exceptional experiences for [its] guests.”
What makes the Red Rabbit Club unique is its exclusivity. Red Rabbit Club will offer just 17 tables, so intimacy is inherent in this subterranean and surreal venue. While other clubs focus on numbers, Red Rabbit is all about experience. The renovation plans intend to immerse the clientele in a multi-sensate experience through progressive technology and extravagant design elements.
Red Rabbit (not to be mistaken for Dead Rabbit, an Irish bar/restaurant in lower Manhattan) is only the latest in a series of successful projects for Hosein. In the summer of 2016, he launched AM Southampton, billed as Southampton’s #1 night life experience. Among the talent it attracted was Rap singer 50 Cent, who Hosein snagged again to host the opening of Red Rabbit.
Located at 408 15th Street, New York, NY, Red Rabbit is a short hop to Chelsea Market and a skip and a jump from The Tippler, another underground bar. These, and other, new, subterranean lounges are the answers to the lofty insurgence of rooftop bars doting the city grid. With its “rabbit hole” staircase, sunken dance floor enveloped by red plush, velvet couches and booths, surround sound, smart lighting and LED screens on the walls and ceilings, Red Rabbit portrays the motif of mystery, clandestine meetings, and the joys of becoming enraptured in the realm of fantasy.
Lewis Carroll, author of Alice in Wonderland, wrote, “But I don’t want to go among mad people,” said Alice. “Oh, you can’t help that,” said the cat. “We’re all mad here.” Perhaps the select few patrons of Red Rabbit will feel, just for a moment, as the traffic rumbles above their heads, and the lights and sounds of the happy madness envelops them, that this is an escape, a well-deserved and much needed hiatus from the norm.
